Regardless of the setting in which you practice, it is highly likely that you will encounter patients with varying degrees of visual impairments. Unfortunately, the training most therapists receive often does not adequately prepare them to provide effective treatment to individuals experiencing vision loss. This webinar was created specifically to equip therapists with the necessary knowledge and skills to better understand the common causes of visual impairments and implement appropriate therapeutic techniques confidently and competently. Participating in this webinar will give you the valuable information you need to design appropriate and effective therapy sessions for patients with visual impairments, ensuring they receive the most comprehensive care possible.

Presented by Marlene Snow, MS, OTR/L, SCLV
Medication Management for Patients with Vision Impairments
Medication management can be confusing for seniors. Half of all Americans do not take their medications as prescribed, resulting in declines in health and function (Schwartz, 2016). Managing medications with a vision impairment or physical limitation creates many other issues. This is an issue which can be the difference between living independently and requiring assistance. Medication management is well within the scope of occupational therapy. This course will educate you in various assessments available and offer techniques to increase the independence of your clients.
