1. Identifying Key Research Concepts That Support the Rationales of Each IDDSI Level
Initially this chapter will review the substantial need for standardized diet levels that will be used in all settings, for all ages, with all cultures. Then research will be shared that supports the rationales behind determinations for each of the IDDSI levels for both children and adults with dysphagia.
2. Describing the Recommended Steps to Implementing IDDSI in a Health Care Facility
This chapter will share suggested implementation steps for a facility’s IDDSI rollout. Consideration will be given to the recommended steps from the IDDSI team, as well as examples from a variety of health care facilities.
3. Troubleshooting Final Obstacles: Sharing Suggestions and Final Steps
This chapter will review obstacles that have been reported by different dietary departments while implementing IDDSI in their hospital or other health care facility. Respective solutions will be shared, as well as other ideas and suggestions to help decrease additional challenges.
