1. Dysphagia: Identification
This chapter will identify patients with COVID-19 who would be considered high-risk for experiencing dysphagia. This chapter will review basic factors that can put a patient at risk and then evaluate the impact of COVID-19.
2. Dysphagia: Evaluation
In this chapter, different types of evaluations for dysphagia will be described and reviewed. This chapter will also discuss what evaluations would work best for patients with COVID-19 based on the course of hospitalization.
3. Dysphagia: Treatment
In this chapter, different treatment options will be discussed. These treatment options will be based on different types of outcomes from patients with dysphagia secondary to COVID-19 and the management of these patients.
4. Cognition: Identification
This chapter will identify patients with COVID-19 who would be considered high-risk for experiencing cognitive deficits. This chapter will review basic factors that can put a patient at risk and then evaluate the impact of COVID-19.
5. Evaluation of Cognition
In this chapter, different types of evaluations for cognitive-linguistic skills will be described and reviewed. This chapter will also discuss the timing of evaluation and what evaluations would work best for patients with COVID-19 based on the course of hospitalization.
6. Cognition: Treatment
In this chapter, different cognitive treatment options will be discussed. These treatment options will be based on different types of outcomes from patients with cognitive-linguistic deficits secondary to COVID-19 and the hospitalization/management of these patients.
