Presented by Salvador Bondoc, OTD, OTR/L, BCPR, CHT, FAOTA
Evidence-Based Interventions for Severe Impairments in the Neurological Upper Extremity
Neurological and functional recovery following a neurological insult vastly varies in terms of the clinical presentation and the corresponding intervention. This course covers evidence-based interventions for upper extremity conditions with significant impairments during acute to sub-acute stages of recovery. More specifically, this segment will focus mainly on interventions that address the flaccid to significantly limited motor functions.
The Hemiplegic Shoulder: Pain & Subluxation
Presented by Salvador Bondoc, OTD, OTR/L, BCPR, CHT, FAOTA
The Hemiplegic Shoulder: Pain & Subluxation
This course explores more in-depth treatment considerations for the hemiplegic shoulder. Two issues that are common to the hemiplegic shoulder are subluxation and pain. These issues may be interrelated or independent of each other.
Evidence-Based Interventions for Mild-Moderate Impairments in the Neurological Upper Extremity
Presented by Salvador Bondoc, OTD, OTR/L, BCPR, CHT, FAOTA
Evidence-Based Interventions for Mild-Moderate Impairments in the Neurological Upper Extremity
Neurological and functional recovery following a neurological insult vastly vary in terms of their clinical presentation and the corresponding interventions. Part 3 covers evidence-based interventions for upper extremity conditions with significant impairments during acute to sub-acute stages of recovery. This course, Part 4, is a continuation, with its focus mainly on interventions that address the upper limb with some recovered motor functions.
Understanding Recovery and Evolution of Impairments in the Arm and Hand
Presented by Salvador Bondoc, OTD, OTR/L, BCPR, CHT, FAOTA
Understanding Recovery and Evolution of Impairments in the Arm and Hand
This course explores the process of recovery following a neurological insult typical in strokes or brain injury and how it impacts arm and hand function. Special focus will be given to understanding of spasticity and associated impairment patterns in sensorimotor control and biomechanics of reach and grasp. Such knowledge will provide the clinician the critical foundation during assessment and intervention planning throughout the continuum of recovery.
Evaluation and Outcome Assessment in the Neurological Upper Extremity
Presented by Salvador Bondoc, OTD, OTR/L, BCPR, CHT, FAOTA
Evaluation and Outcome Assessment in the Neurological Upper Extremity
With the foundational knowledge presented in Part 1, the learner will now explore the application of this knowledge to the evaluation and assessment process. Part 2, therefore, focuses on an approach to evaluation to generate a targeted intervention plan for the neurological upper extremity. The use of physical tests and measures will be discussed and demonstrated.
