Nail and skin care should be a part of a patient's daily hygiene routine, and nail and skin assessment should be performed with the bath. Special care should be taken to help prevent infection, odors, pain, or skin breakdown. One of the most important skills that any home health aide must have is the ability to help with special skin and nail care needs and report changes. Training is essential in tasks involving nail and skin care to monitor for issues or prevent further injury. This course will provide the home health aide with the basic concepts of proper nail and skin care for the home health patient.
