Marnie Renda

OTR/L, CAPS, ECHM

Marnie Renda, OTR/L, CAPS, ECHM, is the founder of Destination Home LLC, which provides OT Home Assessments, product and home modification consultations, as well as, care coordination services for elders and persons with disabilities living at home.

Marnie graduated from Lafayette College and Springfield College with a B.A. in Psychobiology and a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy. She has over 20 years of experience in healthcare in a variety of settings including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and in the community. Additionally, Marnie is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist and earned an Executive Certificate in Home Modifications.

Marnie is a nationally recognized expert in home modifications. She has authored several articles on home modifications and assistive technology which were published in professional journals. Marnie was recently appointed the American Occupational Therapy Association, Home Modification Network Coordinator. In this role, she is responsible for coordinating the occupational therapists across the country providing home modifications. Additionally, she is co-authoring the American Occupational Therapy Association official document entitled "The Role of Occupational Therapy in Complex Home Modifications".

This course provides the foundation of knowledge necessary to evaluate and make effective recommendations for the modification of entrances. Marnie Renda presents and contextualizes ADA recommendations for entrance measurement and evaluation, and provides problem solving strategies for patients in a wide variety of situations. The course draws on numerous real world examples to build critical reasoning skills and spark student's creativity. The course also includes a question and answer session with a practicing therapist, to further explore problem solving in the field.
