Body Temperature Assessment for Exertional Heat Stroke
Presented by Susan Yeargin, PhD, ATC
Body Temperature Assessment for Exertional Heat Stroke
This course will provide an in-depth focus on how to examine a patient for exertional heat stroke (EHS). This will include differential diagnosis from other conditions that could present as EHS, central nervous system dysfunction assessment, and body temperature assessment. Body temperature assessment will focus predominately on the use of rectal thermometry; including policy development, implementation, and specific clinical setting barriers with solutions.
Strength and Conditioning in Sports
Presented by Susan Falsone, PT, MS, SCS, ATC, CSCS, COMT, RYT®
Strength and Conditioning in Sports
This course is designed to give the physical therapist a fundamental understanding of strength and conditioning. Susan Falsone will review basic muscle physiology and energy systems and apply metabolic and structural adaptations to both aerobic and anaerobic exercise training. Multiple demonstrations and lectures will thoroughly explore testing modalities for aerobic capacity, strength, power and agility. The participant will learn how to design and implement physiologically based aerobic and anaerobic training programs.
Evidence-Based Examination of the Lumbar Spine: An Update
Presented by Chad Cook, PT, PhD, MBA, FAPTA, FAAOMPT
Evidence-Based Examination of the Lumbar Spine: An Update
In this course, users will evaluate the impact and prevalence of lumbar dysfunction, understand the imperative patient history elements of a low back examination, and identify which patient history components are affiliated with lumbar pathology. The most common forms of self-reported outcome measures for the lumbar spine are presented and discussed. Viewers will also identify the most prevalent red flags germane to the lumbar spine examination and differentiate the purposes of each diagnostic test for sinister problems. An objective is to synthesize the importance of specific, meaningful clinical findings during the examination process and evaluate the benefit of palpation and manual muscle testing as part of a dedicated clinical examination. Lastly, viewers will identify the most diagnostic lumbar-spine-oriented special tests and apply the tests to the appropriate diagnoses. Current research is presented throughout the course to provide learners with the proper tools for evidence-based management of these patients. This course is part of a comprehensive clinical series covering examination and intervention for the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, as well as the upper (shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand) and lower (hip, pelvis, knee, foot, and ankle) quarters.
What Every Clinician Should Know About ACL Injury and Treatment
Presented by Terry Malone, PT, EdD, AT-Ret
What Every Clinician Should Know About ACL Injury and Treatment
This course is a look at the last 50 years of ACL injury management. The course describes the challenges of identifying an optimal approach to management, which has evolved based on both clinical and basic science. This evolution involved numerous attempts at replicating the function of a native ACL and how to best rehabilitate the individual postoperatively. In the US today, individuals with noncontact ACL injuries are typically treated with a reconstruction with a strong graft that is properly positioned and fixated to enable early ROM and an active rehabilitative approach. Interestingly, the attempted early return to sport has become muted as registries have recognized that return before nine months is not ideal. This course provides the context of how we got to where we are and where we might be going.

“I love the patient portal and MedBridge GO app, where my athletes can easily access their programs. I also love the CEU courses that I can easily access at any time. I have maintained all of my BOC-EBP CEU requirements through MedBridge.”
Monica Lorenzo, MS, ATC, CES
Madison Square Garden
“We use MedBridge Education a couple of different ways. First, the education that our sports medicine staff gains from the online learning, on our schedule, is invaluable! Additionally, we use the Home Exercise Program because we can quickly create a HEP to send with kids. We can print these or email them to parents. This helps with accountability as we assign ‘homework’ for the kids!”
Mike Hopper, MS, ATC
Head Athletic Trainer at Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, TX
“I love how MedBridge focuses on visual learning! This helps me apply my education without guessing on my end and on my patients’ end. It is easy to pick CEUs that I am interested in and complete them on my own time!”
