1. Breaking Down Barriers to Change
In this podcast, we will hear an example of a typical home health visit. During the visit, a nurse is providing education to a patient regarding oxygen safety and is attempting to facilitate a health behavior change. In the first scenario, the nurse struggles to understand the barriers to change and increases the patient’s resistance to health behavior changes. In the second scenario, the nurse recognizes the friction and employs the pulling change method to support the patient in positive health behavior changes.
